Abstract
Light and electron microscopic studies established the presence of five typ es of haemocytes in Dysdercus koenigii F., namely the prohaemocyte, plasmat ocyte, granular haemocyte, adipohaemocyte and the oenocytoid. In differenti al counts, the maximum discernible cells were the plasmatocytes and the gra nular haemocytes. The adipohaemocytes of this bug were unique in possessing nucleolar ribosomes. A few of the adipohaemocytes and the oenocytoids were characterized by two nuclei.
