C. Hicyilmaz et al., THE EFFECT OF DISSOLVED SPECIES ON HYDROPHOBIC AGGREGATION OF FLUORITE, Colloids and surfaces. A, Physicochemical and engineering aspects, 121(1), 1997, pp. 15-21
The hydrophobic aggregation of fluorite in the presence of Fe3+, Al3+,
F- Ca2+, Mg2+ and Ba2+ ions was studied. Electrokinetic potentials we
re measured to interpret the effect of these ions on aggregation. Diss
olved species affected the hydrophobic aggregation either by coating t
he fluorite surface with hydrolysis products, which reduces collector
adsorption, or by inducing a high repulsive force between the particle
s due to specific adsorption.
