Abstract
Saprobic fungi were identified among the material collected during the Benelux Lichenological Expedition to Papua New Guinea in 1992. These include many widespread species, especially those found on high altitu de, some of which are reported here for the first time from the Southe rn Hemisphere. Papilionovela albothallina gen. et sp. nov. is describe d and illustrated, Xylopezia is referred to the Hyponectriaceae.
