Sa. Gordon et Rh. Petersen, INFRASPECIFIC VARIATION AMONG GEOGRAPHICALLY SEPARATED COLLECTIONS OFMARASMIUS-ANDROSACEUS, Mycological research, 101, 1997, pp. 365-371
Comparative morphology, mating compatibility and extracellular laccase
approaches were used to provide information on infraspecific variatio
n within geographically separated collections of Marasmius androsaceus
. Collections/cultures from North America and Europe were used for the
se analyses. While all utilized collections belonged to one morphologi
cal species, mating compatibility crosses revealed three intersterilit
y groups. Extracellular laccase banding patterns confirmed genetic iso
lation of intersterility groups I and II.
