Abstract
A new species of the frog genus Physalaemus, belonging to the P. signifer s pecies group, is described from the Atlantic Forest of the Serra do Brigade iro (20 degrees 42'S, 42 degrees 29'N), Municipality of Araponga, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The new species is readily separated from all other s pecies included in the P. signifer group by its large size (43.3-48.5 mm SV L).
