Abstract
Hyla splendens Schmidt, 1857, based on a specimen purportedly from Bocas de l Toro, Panama, has been rediscovered in cloud forest on the eastern slopes of the Andes in Departamento Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The species is redescrib ed as a species of Gastrotheca and compared with members of the Gastrotheca marsuplata group in southern Andes.
