Abstract
Proliferating cells must increase their mass coordinately with cell divisio n. Recent evidence suggests that coupling of cell growth with cell division might be achieved by making synthesis of activators of cell division parti cularly sensitive to the capacity of the cell's protein synthesis machinery .
