Abstract
The small signal modulation and intermodulation responses of the gain-clamp
ed erbium-doped fibre amplifier were investigated experimentally for the fi
rst time. Around the relaxation oscillation frequency, a strong resonance d
ip and peak were observed in the modulation and intermodulation characteris
tics, respectively.
