Abstract
Under conditions of higher or lower uncertainty, college students recalled thr ee or eight ways to improve exam performance and then estimated their l ikelihood of getting As on their easiest and hardest finals. Results suppor ted the hypothesis that the availability heuristic is used only under condi tions of uncertainty. Copyright (C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
