Jw. Maluf et Jf. Da Rocha-neto, General relativity on a null surface: Hamiltonian formulation in the teleparallel geometry, GEN RELAT G, 31(2), 1999, pp. 173-185
The Hamiltonian formulation of general relativity on a null surface is esta
blished in the teleparallel geometry. No particular conditions on the tetra
ds are imposed, like the time gauge condition. By means of a 3+1 decomposit
ion the resulting Hamiltonian arises as a completely constrained system. Ho
wever, it is structurally different from the standard Arnowitt-Deser-Misner
(ADM) type formulation. In this geometrical framework the basic field quan
tities are tetrads that transform under the global SO(3, 1) and the torsion
tensor.
