Abstract
Under the mild conditions, reductive cyclizations of 2-nitrobenzaldehy des or 2'-nitroacetophenone towards 2,1-benzisoxazoles were accomplish ed in the presence of 2 bromo-2-nitropropane/Zn in methanolic solution . The synthetic utility and the role of 2-bromo-2-nitropropane were in vestigated.
