A new tungsten province, Hoggar, is described in the Central Sahara. It is
associated with the Taourirt granitic complex, which formed during the Earl
y Paleozoic tectonomagmatic activization, when Hoggar was involved in arche
d uplifting. New data are obtained regarding the location of the Taourirt g
ranites, the internal structure of the intrusions, and the dependence of th
e ore potential and metallogeny on the structure and composition of the plu
tons. The distribution of the tungsten deposits within Hoggar is examined.
Deposits of the main geological and economic types are discussed. The locat
ion, mineralogy, and chemistry of the ores are described.
