Abstract
In this paper description of particle distribution obtained in laboratory a nd industrial scale batch and continuous granulator is shown by hyperbolic tangent distribution function. The number of adjustable parameters of the g eneral hyperbolic tangent distribution function was decreased making an eas ily usable form of the general hyperbolic tangent distribution function for fitting to measured particle distributions. The parameters of this distrib ution function were determined by the measured particle distributions, the expressions obtained by the fitting procedure may be well used for describi ng the particular process taken place. Moreover by the evaluation of experi mental distributions, connections between the operating parameters of granu lators are determined as well.
