Sn4P3 crystals were prepared by high-temperature solution growth, and their
structure was determined by x-ray diffraction (sp. gr. R (3) over bar m; a
= 0.3963(2) nm, c = 3.530(2) nm; 444 inequivalent reflections, R-F = R-w =
0.0457). All of the crystallographic positions in the structure of Sn4P3 a
re fully occupied. The phosphorus atoms are in octahedral coordination.
