A methodology of implementation of cellular manufacturing

This paper proposes a methodology of implementation of cellular manufacturi ng. This methodology integrates into a logical routine the series of method s and activities that characterize the implementation of cellular manufactu ring in typical operations systems. The methodology has been designed and r efined along an action research project in a toy manufacturer in South Braz il. The results suggest that its application may successfully co-ordinate t he implementation of manufacturing cells in a team-based approach, and subs equently improve people's knowledge about the process of continuous improve ments in operations.
