Abstract
A procedure for the atomic-emission determination of the total arsenic, inc luding that as lewisite, in the air of the working area was developed. A ce rtain volume of air is pumped through an absorbing flask with concentrated nitric acid. Next, the acid is evaporated in the presence of high-purity gr aphite powder, Atomic-emission spectra of the dry residue are excited using a de are discharge. It is possible to determine 5 x 10(-4) mg of arsenic f rom a sample of 1 m(3).
