Abstract
Three species of Anastrophyllum are shown to occur in temperate Australasia . Anastrophyllum papillosum J. J. Engel & Braggins sp. nov. is described fr om New Zealand; the species differs from A. novazelandiae R. M. Schust. by characters that include branching, leaf cuticle, size of basal leaf cells a nd oil-bodies. Anastrophyllum schismoides (Mont.) Steph. is subdivided into two varieties, var. schismoides and var. crassulum J. J. Engel, var. nov. Descriptions and a key to these species are provided. An overview of the au stral species of Anastrophyllum is included.
