Abstract
Single CdHgTe crystals with diameter of 25 mm have been grown by the travel ing heater method within a rotating magnetic field (RMF) of 2-6 mT. The exp eriments have been conducted without seed to minimize the free volume in th e ampoule. Some results of the research art: described with emphasis on the effect of RMF on radial composition homogeneity. Investigations of optical transmission and electric characteristics of the samples have been carried out as well. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
