Abstract
The correction to the mass for the spurious centre-of-mass motion in a three-quark system is calculated exactly in the nonrelativistic const ituent quark model for the Cornell potential. The result is somewhat h igher than MIT bag model estimates but similar to that of a soliton ba g model and a relativistic oscillator model.
