Abstract
Ultrafine silver monodispersed particle were prepared by wet chemical proce ss. To decrease the reduction speed, an important factor in generating mono dispersed particles is to control the following three factors: synthesis te mperature, concentration of aggregation-relaxing agent added, and concentra tion of silver nitrate solution, Synthesis of monodispersed spherical Ag pa rticles, used as metal powders for electrode, became possible using the nucl eus growth reaction method. This process also allowed the control of the di ameter of the powder particles. The silver particles were distributed in a narrow particle diameter range with on average of 0.5 mu m. Transmission el ectron microscopy (TEM) revealed that single-crystalline silver particles m ere prepared by the present method.
