CuCl quantum dots (QDs) were fabricated in aluminoborosilicate glass matrix
and their thermal properties mere studied. Phonon energy interacting with
excitons was calculated from the thermal broadening of Z(3) exciton band ou
t of the absorption spectrum. The energy gap was found to linearly increase
with increasing temperature. The melting temperature of CuCl QDs (about 32
0 degrees C) was lowered considerably than that of bulk CuCl (425 degrees C
).
