Abstract
Murine acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is a lymphoproliferative disease with a concurrently developing immunodeficiency. The disease is induced aft er injection of supernatant of a chronically infected cell line that releas es a mixture of two replication competent virus classes and a replication i ncompetent virus species responsible for pathogenicity. An immunochemical d etection assay for virus infected foci on cell monolayers has been develope d. This assay allows quantification of all three types of virus. (C) 1999 E lsevier Science B.V.
