Abstract
A new class of dendritic amphiphiles with multi-hydrophilic head groups has been synthesized and characterized. The results from their surface pressur e vs. area isotherms and hysteresis curves indicate that they form highly c ompressible and stable monolayers at the air-water interface. The topology of dendritic monolayer and Langmuir-Blodgett films was investigated by atom ic force microscopy, which showed a highly ordered aggregation.
