Seven N-substituted salicylideneiminatotriphenyltin(Iv) chelated complexes
of general formula Ph3SnLdagger [HLdagger = o-HOC6H4CH=NC6H4R (R = Cl, Me,
OMe, COMe) and o-HOC6H3(OMe)CH=NC6H4Cl] have been synthesized by the reacti
on of triphenyltin(IV) chloride and N-arylsalicylideneimines in benzene in
presence of triethylamine as Lewis base. The complexes are characterized by
Infrared, NMR(H-1 and Sn-119) spectroscopy in addition to elemental analys
es. Molecular weight determination in chloroform show them to be monomeric
and five coordinated trigonal bipyramidal geometry is proposed for the orga
notin(IV) complexes.
