Abstract
Closed-form expressions have been reported for calculating the quasistatic line parameters of the coplanar waveguide (CPW) with different ground-plane widths. The effect of the asymmetric configuration of the ground planes on the quasistatic parameters has been investigated by using the formulas obt ained by the well-known conformal mapping techniques. Comparisons have also been made between present results and the results available in the literat ure for the conventional CPW. It has been shown that the asymmetry of the g round planes leads ro a significant change of the quasistatic parameters wi th respect to cases of finite and infinite ground planes.
