Abstract
We report a dry process to produce a multilayered TiO2 film which has the r
utile phase on an anatase substrate, for highly activated photocatalysis. A
r ion beam irradiation changes the anatase surface into rutile at 500 degre
es C, which is less than the crystallization temperature of rutile from ana
tase (600 degrees C). The ion beam modification makes it possible to form r
utile thin him on anatase. The multilayered structure should be a promising
photocatalyst, theoretically. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
