Abstract
We use cubic-phase plate imaging to demonstrate an order-of-magnitude impro vement in the transverse resolution of three-dimensional objects reconstruc ted by extended depth-of-field tomography. Our algorithm compensates for th e range shear of the cubic-phase approach and uses camera rotation to cente r the reconstructed volume on a target object point. (C) 1999 Optical Socie ty of America.
