Pu-236 was produced by the reaction Np-237(gamma,n)Np-236m --> Pu-236 on an
MT-25 microtron (Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear reactions) as electron accel
erator. Plutonium was separated from the irradiated target using anion-exch
ange Chromatography. The activity ratio Pu-236:Pu-238:Pu-239: Pu-240: Np-23
7 was 1:(less than or equal to 1x 10(-4)) : 1 x 10(-5) : 2 x 10(-6) : (<1 x
10(-4)). The reaction Np-237(gamma,n) is the best choice for production of
Pu-236 with the content of impurity isotopes (by activity) of 10(-6)-10(-7
) Bq Bq(-1).
