The Cr(III), Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) complexes with salicylaldehyde N-[4
-(4'-chlorophenylenesulfonyl)benzoyl]hydrazone were synthesized. The compou
nds were characterized by elemental analytical, thermogravimetric, magnetic
susceptibility, and IR, UV-VIS, and photoelectron spectral data. All compl
exes were found to exhibit pseudooctahedral geometry. The electronic absorp
tion data were used to determine the ligand-field parameters.
