Investigations were carried out into the effect of the structural state of
the steel on remagnetization processes in weak and strong magnetic fields.
Steels with different carbon content, from 0.03 to 0.8%, were examined. The
variation of the magnetic properties of steels N18, 20S2GN2Kh2F. 18KhNVA,
20KhG, 34KhN3M, 40Kh, 60S2, and Y8 is compared with the behavior of the mag
netic domain structure in the vicinity of the regions of high local stresse
