Abstract
Immunoassays are analytical techniques based on the avidity and specif icity of the antigen-antibody reaction. However, new immunochemical te chniques have emerged recently as a consequence of the incorporation o f scientific advances and knowledge from other areas such as molecular biology, microelectronics and chemistry. The principles of these tech niques and their application to environmental analysis are presented.
