Stratigraphic and facies distribution of radiolarians within the interval f
rom the Gzhelian Stage of the Upper Carboniferous to the Kungurian Stage of
the Lower Permian in the Cis-Ural foredeep are considered. The interrelati
on between facies and specific features of radiolarian fauna is analyzed. I
n the longitudinal direction, the area of radiolarian distribution is limit
ed by the foredeep boundaries. Its latitudinal interval coincides with the
southern part of the foredeep below 57 degrees N in the north. It is suppos
ed that this latitude bordered the northern thermocline, which served as a
paleoclimatic barrier to the dispersal of radiolarian biota northward.
