Abstract
Fulminant hepatic failure has diverse causes, and is associated with an exc eptionally high mortality rate. The majority of patients do not survive, un less they receive a liver allograft. A multidisciplinary approach, early pr ognostication, and rapid. availability of a donor organ are essential requi rements for a successful outcome.
