A chiral aluminophosphate, d-Co(en)(3).Al3P4O16.3H(2)O, has been synth
esized using optically pure d-Co(en)(3)(3+) as a templating agent (en
= 1,2-diaminoethane). The structure of the material has been determine
d from a small single crystal using synchrotron radiation and imaging
plate detection. The aluminophosphate contains chiral macroanionic she
ets similar to those previously reported in trans-Co(dien)(2).Al3P4O16
.xH(2)O (dien = diethylenetriamine). Co(C2N2H8)(3).Al3P4O16.3H(2)O, M-
