Abstract
beta-Selenium and beta-tellurium carbonyl compounds have been prepared in g ood yield by reaction of diaryldiselenides or diarylditelluride with alpha, beta-unsaturated carbonyl compounds induced by TiCl4/Sm/THF system under mi ld reaction conditions.
