The investigation of multiple diffraction between the interacting edges of
planar structures is an important phenomenon in diffraction theory and rele
vant for many engineering applications. In this paper, a uniform asymptotic
high-frequency solution is developed for the diffraction of a line source
field by a three-part resistive plane. The related boundary-value problem i
s formulated into a modified scalar Wiener-Hopf equation (MSWHE). By perfor
ming the factorization of the kernel functions through the Maliuzhinets fun
ction, MSWHE is reduced to a pair of coupled Fredholm integral equations of
the second kind and then solved approximately by iterations.
