Abstract
We studied the long-term results of the Molteno single-plate implant in 50 eyes with neovascular glaucoma. Age, visual acuity, and underlying retinal diseases were evaluated to establish factors influencing the surgical outco me. The long-term surgical outcome was significantly better in patients old er than age 60 years. Therefore, although the intraocular pressure can be s ignificantly reduced alter Molteno tube implantation, the main advantage of Molteno is pain relief and avoidance of enucleation.
