Fr. Querci et M. Querci, Variable star research with international networks - An example: the network of oriental robotic telescopes, ASTRO SP SC, 258(1-2), 1998, pp. 337-343
Generally speaking, variable stars are monitored through multi-site observi
ng campaigns which coordinate telescopes at various longitudes. A new pract
ice is in progress: devoted networks involving robotic telescopes. We will
review these two technologies and will emphasize the NORT (Network of Orien
tal Robotic Telescopes) project which we are promoting in North Africa, Mid
dle-Eastern countries and Asia.(1).
