Abstract
A solid-liquid equilibrium (SLE) model is developed on the basis of an equa tion of state referred to as copolymer SAFT. This SLE model is demonstrated for hydrocarbon solutions containing totally and partially crystallizable solutes. Initially regressed and tested on the solubility data for naphthal ene, normal-alkane, and polyethylene, this model is used in a sensitivity s tudy to understand the effects of crystallizability, melting temperature, m olecular weight, and pressure on solid-liquid and liquid-liquid transitions of polyethylene in subcritical and supercritical propane.
