The French Megajoule Laser Project (LMJ)

This paper describes the goal and the design of the Megajoule Laser to be b uilt in France at the beginning of the next century. Several technical deve lopments are related to this new design and justify the use of new technolo gies. Most of them are the continuation of a developmental effort by the CE A for several years.
