Abstract
H2O2 oxidation of [M-III(PyPepS)(2)](-) (M = Fe, Co) complexes with carboxa mido nitrogens and thiolato sulfurs as donors affords the corresponding sul finato [M-III(PyPepSO(2))(2)](-) species. The spectral properties of [Fe-II I(PyPepSO(2))(2)](-) resemble those of the iron site of nitrile hydratase.
