Abstract
Reaction of the hydrazido(2-) complex cis, mer-[WCl2(NNH2)(PMe2Ph)(3)], der ived from a dinitrogen complex cis-[W(N-2)(2)(PMe2Ph)(4)], with formylferro cene or acetylferrocene gave ferrocenyldiazoalkane complexes cis, mer-[WCl2 (NN=CRFc)(PMe2Ph)(3)] (2: R = H, Me; Fc = (eta(5)-C5H4)Fe(eta(5)-C5H5)). Tr eatment of 2 with pi-acceptor ligands L such as CO, CH2=CH2, p-MeC6H4CHO, p -MeC6H4C=CH and (BuNC)-N-t afforded a series of ferrocenyldiazoalkane compl exes cis, trans-[WCl2(NN=CRFc)(L)(PMe2Ph)(2)] (4), while upon treatment wit h CH2Cl2 2 gave the W(V) complexes mer, trans-[WCl3(NN=CRFc)(PMe2Ph)(2)] (5 ). The X-ray analyses have been undertaken to determine the detailed struct ures for 2a (R = H) and 5b (R = Me). (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rig hts reserved.
