Abstract
Tris(acetylacetonato)chromium was supported on MgCl2 by an impregnation met hod. The resulting catalyst combined with AlEt2Cl(DEAC) as the cocatalyst i nitiated the propene polymerization to yield ata-rich polypropene with a fa irly high molecular weight. Addition of ethylbenzoate (EB) as an external d onor caused to increase the catalyst isospecificity to a great extent. Thus , isotactic polypropene with I,I. = 98%, [mmmm] = 97% and T-m = 165.3 degre es C was obtained under appropriate conditions.
