A spectrophotometric flow injection procedure for the determination of sulp
hide is described. The reaction is based on the reduction of Fe(III) to Fe(
II) by sulphide in acidic medium in the presence of 1,10 phenanthroline for
ming the orange-red complex [(C12H8N2)(3) Fe](2+) measured at 510 nm. The d
etection limit was lower than 1x10(-6) M with sampling rate of 50 h(-1) hav
ing a relative standard deviation of 0.96% (n=10).
