Abstract
The low molecular weight (Mr) acid phosphatase from sheep brain was purifie d to homogeneity using affinity chromatography on p. aminobenzylphosphonic acid-agarose to obtain the enzyme with specific activity, 25 U/mg of protei n and yield of about 6%. The low molecular weight was estimated to be 16,00 0 by sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
