A new semi-continuous process is reported for BaTiO3 powders synthesis unde
r high pressure (10 MPa). The first step is the hydrolysis of the alkoxide
BaTi(O-iC(3)H(7))(6) in isopropanol at temperatures between 100 degrees C a
nd 200 degrees C in tubular flow reactor. The second one is a thermal treat
ment of the formed solids, under the supercritical state of the solvent. Pa
rticle size of the dried crystalline recovered powders is around 10 nm. Pow
der sintering and ceramic dielectric properties have been tested. (C) 1999
