Aa. Belimov et al., Interaction of associative bacteria and an endomycorrhizal fungus with barley upon dual inoculation, MICROBIOLOG, 68(1), 1999, pp. 104-108
When barley was inoculated with the mycorrhiza-forming fungus Glomus intror
adices 7, the additional introduction of the associative nitrogen-fixing: b
acterium Azospirillum lipoferum 137 and the phosphate-solubilizing bacteria
Agrobacterium radiobacter 10 and Flavobacterium sp. L30 did not affect the
intensity of the development of mycorrhizal structures in the roots, Mycor
rhization of the plants was conducive to better establishment of A. lipofer
um 137 in the rhizoplane but significantly decreased root colonization by F
lavobacterium sp. L30. Inoculation of barley with the phosphate-solubilizin
g bacterium alone and together with G. introradices 7 increased the yield a
nd accumulation of phosphorus in the grains. However, coinoculation did not
produce any: synergistic or additive effect on the growth and uptake of nu
trients by the plants.
