Abstract
The diagnosis of fibromyalgia frequently is not well-accepted. The criteria for classification follow clinical signs and symptoms. They are often foun d lacking in separating from other pain conditions sufficiently, especially when clinical features overlap. Subgroups may exist. Various pathogenetic models resulted in different therapeutic approaches. T ricyclic antidepressants, serotonin reuptake inhibitors and recently 5-HT3 receptor antagonists are used. So far there is no drug to remove pain subst antially in ail patients.
