Abstract
An easy and rapid method for tritium labeling of deprotected oligonucleotid es is proposed. The method consists in performing the reaction of commercia l H-3-succinimidyl propionate with a terminal amino group of the oligonucle otide in an organic medium. High specific radioactivity labeling can be ach ieved with minimal radiolysis during long term storage. The synthesis of th e nonradioactive congener having an identical structure to the labeled comp ound is also described.
