The impact of ionizing radiation on the kinetics of the thermal De-NOx proc
ess was investigated by computer simulation. The NO reduction process was s
timulated by radical and ion reactions. The calculation model included 30 d
ifferent molecules and 169 chemical reactions. It was found that the combin
ed process operates in a broader temperature window than the thermal De-NOx
process. The reduction is practically completed in about 0.1 s even at 800
K, where the thermal reaction is too slow to be used. The mechanism of the
combined process and the influence of dose rate on the kinetics of the com
